Neb-pet-mehtit Nb-pt-mḥtjt lord of the northern sky |
Neb-pet-mehtit is the name of an ancient Egyptian sky deity. The “ Lord of the Northern Heaven ” with the constellation “ Great Bear ” is probably Seth in his capacity as “ Mesechtiu ”.
In the coffin texts of the Middle Kingdom , Neb-pet-mehtit is " Seth who brings the grain for the deceased on a donkey, which the Apis bull will thresh ". In the New Kingdom , Neb-pet-mehtit appears in the Egyptian Book of the Dead in a similar function and is there " Seth who reaps the grain for the dead ".
