Necromancia ( pt . ' Nekromantie ') is a Brazilian groove and thrash metal band from São Bernardo do Campo , which was founded in 1984.

history

The band was founded in 1984 by the brothers Marcelo (vocals, electric guitar) and Kiko D 'Castro (drums). A short time later, bassist Edgar “Budega” Gerbelli joined the band and completed the line-up. Inspired by bands like Venom , Slayer and Voivod , the band developed their first songs. In 1987 the band contributed two songs to the split release Headthrashers Live , which was released on Fucker Records . Roberto Fornero was now represented in the band as bass player. In 1993 the band recorded their first single, Hypnotic . In 1997 the self-titled debut album was released, which was followed by the second album Check Mate in 2004 . The album was produced by Andreas Kisser , guitarist at Sepultura . Kisser also contributed a guitar solo and backing vocals for the song Greed Up to Kill . Another guest musician was Alex Camargo , bassist and singer with Krisiun , where his vocals were featured on the song The Blooding . The album also featured a cover version of Motörhead's Overkill as a bonus , as well as a music video for Greep Up to Kill . In January 2008, the debut album was remastered and re-released via Voice Music , with all previously released demos, the single and the songs from the split release Headthrashers Live being included as a bonus. In addition, the album contained a cover version of Sepultura's Dead Embryonic Cells .

style

The band moves between "sometimes a bit confused" South American Thrash Metal in the style of early Sepultura works and Groove Metal. Her style is described as a mix of early Sepultura and Machine Head .
