Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit
The Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA; dt: Dutch Authority for the Safety of Food and Consumer Goods ) is a Dutch authority responsible for monitoring producers, importers and traders for compliance with food and consumer goods laws and regulations.
The NVWA is under the responsibility of the Ministerie van Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit (German Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality ). She also works on behalf of the Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport (German Ministry for Health, Social Affairs and Sport ).
The NVWA was created in 2012 through the merger of the Voedselen Warenautoriteit (VWA) with the Algemene Inspectiedienst (AID; German General Inspection Service) and the Plantenziektenkundige Dienst (PD; German Plant Protection Service ). The authority is based in Utrecht .
