Political career

Harald Tom Nesvik was a member of Ålesund City Council from 1987 to 2009. In 1997 he moved into the Norwegian parliament, the Storting , for the first time and was there until 2017 as a representative of the province of Møre og Romsdal . From 2001 to 2005 and 2011 to 2017 he was a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee, from 2013 as group chairman. In the 2017 general election , Nesvik did not run again.

In June 2017 it was announced that he would take over the office of Fylkesmann in Møre og Romsdal from January 2019 . In May 2018, however, he announced that he did not want to take over this office. When the FrP left the government , he resigned from this office on January 24, 2020.

In 2002 he attracted attention when he testified that he had nominated George W. Bush and Tony Blair for the Nobel Peace Prize for their fight against terrorism after the 9/11 attacks .
