Elisabeth Vik Aspaker (born October 16, 1962 in Harstad ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative Høyre party . From 2013 to 2015 she was the fisheries minister of her country. She has been Head of Troms since 2017 , and in 2019 she took over responsibility for Troms and Finnmark .

Life

education

Aspaker studied from 1981 to 1985 Magisterium . Between 1985 and 1986, 1990 and 1995 and between 1999 and 2001 she worked as a teacher at primary schools in Evenskjer and Harstad .

Political career

From 1983 to 1984 Aspaker was the chairman of the youth party Unge Høyre in the province of Troms and also a member of the board of directors of Høyre in Troms. From 1991 to 1995 she was a member of the Harstad municipal parliament and the Fylkesting of Troms. From 1995 to 1999 she was full-time Varaordfører in Troms, i.e. the deputy chairwoman of the Fylketing in Troms. From 1991 to 2001 she was again active as group leader in the local parliament of Harstad.

Between 1989 and 1990, Elisabeth Aspaker worked as a consultant in the Ministry of Justice, and from 2001 to 2004 as a consultant in the Ministry of Education. In June 2004 she took up the post of State Secretary in the Ministry of Health , which she carried out until September 2005.

Aspaker was elected to the Norwegian parliament, the Storting , for the first time in 2005 for the province of Troms . She was re-elected twice and belonged to the Storting until 2017. From 2009 to 2013 she was a member of the parliamentary group chairmanship of her party.

In October 2013, Aspaker was appointed Minister for Fisheries. On December 16, 2015, as part of a cabinet reshuffle, she had to relinquish her post to Per Sandberg of the Progress Party .

In June 2014 it was announced that she would be appointed the new Fylkesmann of Troms. As is not uncommon for this post, she took office some time later, in 2017. Since 2019 she has been responsible for Finnmark in addition to Troms . Since January 1, 2020, the area has formed the province of Troms og Finnmark .
