Bård Hoksrud (born March 26, 1973 in Porsgrunn ) is a Norwegian politician of the Fremskrittsparti (FrP). From October 2013 to June 2015 he served as State Secretary , from August 2018 to January 2019 he was his country's Minister of Agriculture. Since 2005 he has been a member of parliament in Storting .

Life

Hoksrud sat in Bamble's local parliament from 1991 to 2011 . From 1996 to 2002 he was a member of the board of the youth organization Fremskrittspartiets Ungdom (FpU), from 1999 to 2002 he was chairman. From 1999 to 2002 and again from 2010 to 2011 he was a member of the board of FrP. Between 1999 and 2007 he was a member of parliament in the Fylkesting of what was then Telemark Province .

Member of Parliament in Storting

In the 2005 general election Hoksrud moved for the first time in the Norwegian National Parliament Storting one. There he represents the constituency of Telemark and he was initially a member of the Transport and Communication Committee. After the 2009 election he became the second deputy chairman. In the period from October 2005 to September 2011 he was part of the parliamentary committee of the FrP group.

Following the 2013 election, Bård Hoksrud was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport on October 16, 2013 . He held the post until June 5, 2015. After that, he returned to parliament, where he had previously been forced to suspend his mandate due to membership in the government. He has now become a member of the Health and Welfare Committee, where he remained after the 2017 storting election . From October 2017 he was again a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee.

Minister of Agriculture

On August 31, 2018, Hoksrud was appointed Minister of Agriculture and Food in the Solberg government. He only held the post until January 22, 2019, as the post was subsequently taken over by Olaug Bollestad by Kristelig Folkeparti (KrF), who had recently joined the government .

When he left the government again, he returned to Storting, where he was deputy parliamentary group chairman until January 2020 and became deputy chairman of the transport and communications committee.

controversy

In September 2011, television pictures showed Hoksrud leaving a brothel in Riga , Latvia , which attracted attention because it is illegal for Norwegians to visit prostitutes abroad, even abroad. He had to pay a fine of 25,000 crowns.
