Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen

Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen (born October 8, 1964 ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative Høyre party . Since March 2020 he has been the Minister for Fisheries in his country.

Life

After graduating from school in 1984, he attended Bodø University from 1984 to 1986 , where he studied fishing economics. He broke off his studies because he went to Oslo to become general secretary of the youth organization Unge Høyre . He held the post from 1986 to 1989. Ingebrigtsen was a so-called Vararepresentant , i.e. a substitute member, in the Norwegian parliament in Storting from 1989 to 1993 . However, he was not used for his province of Nordland . Between 1983 and 2011 he was a member of Bodø City Council and as such also a candidate for mayor for his party. He worked as a bookseller from 1988 to 2004. From 2004 to 2010 he owned the Emil og Jensen Forlag publishing house and from 2007 to 2009 the Galleri Sjøgata . Between 2008 and 2013 Ingebrigtsen was managing director of the housing cooperative Bodø Boligbyggelag (NOBL) and then until 2018 of the regional development company Bodøregionens Utviklingsselskap . In the period between 2018 and 2020, he was finally head of the energy company Indre Salten Energi .

On January 24, 2020, Ingebrigtsen became State Secretary in the Ministry of Oil and Energy . After Geir Inge Sivertsen resigned from his post as Minister of Fisheries and Torbjørn Røe Isaksen took over the post, Ingebrigtsen was appointed the new Minister of Fisheries in the Solberg government on March 13, 2020 .
