‣ Topic overview |
The Nefertiti piercing is a genital piercing for women . It runs through the clitoral hood and the mons pubis .
history
The piercing was developed by piercer Shane Munce in the late 1990s as an improvement on the riskier Isabella piercing . It is therefore a very young piercing and is less common than the more common clitoral hood piercing or the Christina piercing .
designation
The piercing is named after the Egyptian queen Nefertiti , who is known as Nefertiti in the English-speaking world . The name should emphasize the aesthetic advantages of the piercing, as Nefertiti was considered to be exceptionally beautiful .
position
The upper end is similar to the Christina piercing on the mound, the lower just above the clitoris under the clitoral hood. It can therefore be viewed as a combination of a vertical clitoral hood piercing and a Christina piercing.
Jewellery
A flexible pen made of PTFE is recommended as jewelry . With a shorter stitch channel, a barbell may be used later, but it is unsuitable as an initial piece of jewelry.
Compared to similar piercings
The Nefertiti piercing is an alternative to the clitoral hood and Christina piercing: It offers the stimulation and sexual advantages of a clitoral hood piercing, but has an additional aesthetic appeal due to the higher exit point (in contrast to most other female genital piercings, the Nefertiti is also in "Normal state" visible). Compared to the Christina piercing, it has the advantage that it is less likely to migrate, i.e. H. tends to outgrow.
Compared to most other genital piercings, the Nefertiti piercing has a long healing time of several months and requires reliable care during the healing process due to the long stab canal.
As with the Christina piercing, there is the problem that the piercing can interfere with the intimate shave . However, other forms of depilation, for example with Brazilian waxing or halawa , can be considered or the hair can be removed directly from the piercing with tweezers.
