The Negra Point (English; Spanish Punta Negra , Black Headland ' ) is a steeply rising headland made of dark rock of Robert Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It forms the east side of the entrance to Mitchell Cove .
Scientists from the 29th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1974–1975) mapped it and gave it its descriptive name. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this into English in 2005.
