Neil Forbes Davidson, Baron Davidson of Glen Clova , QC (born September 13, 1950 ) is a Scottish attorney and former Advocate General for Scotland .

Davidson was born the son of John and Flora Davidson, and studied at the University of Stirling with the completion of BA , graduated from the University of Bradford 's MSc and at the University of Edinburgh his LLB , LLM and was in the 1979 Faculty of Advocates added . He is particularly concerned with commercial and administrative law.

Career

In 1979 he was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates, and in 1982 he was registered as Standing Junior Counsel with the Registrar General . He was appointed Member of the Barristers in England and Wales at the Inner Temple in 1990 and Crown Attorney in Scotland in 1993. From 1993 to 2000 he was Director of the City Disputes Panel and on February 24, 2000 he was appointed Solicitor General for Scotland. He held this post until November 2001. He is a member of the 11 King's Bench Walk Chambers legal community founded by former Lord Chancellor Lord Irvine of Lairg .

In March 2006 it was announced that Prime Minister Tony Blair had proposed him for the position of Advocate General for Scotland , which had been vacant since the resignation of Lynda Clark, Baroness Clark of Calton on January 18 of that year. He was raised to Life Peer as Baron Davidson of Glen Clova on March 22nd and went to the House of Lords for the Labor Party . In the 2010 elections , he lost his mandate to challenger Jim Wallace of the Liberal Democrats , the former Deputy First Minister in Scotland.

Davidson is co-author of the Judicial Review in Scotland (1986). It was in 1998 for the International Commission of Jurists ' de mission chief in Egypt.
