Neil Dawson (* 1948 in Christchurch , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand sculptor.

life and work

From 1966 to 1969, Neil Dawson was trained in sculpture with Tom Taylor and Eric Doudney at the School of Art at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. He then continued his education from 1970 to 1973 at the Victoria College of Art in Melbourne , Australia . From 1975 to 1983 he was a lecturer at the Christchurch Polytechnic . In 1978 he had his first exhibition at the Brook Gifford Art Gallery in Christchurch and his first installation Seascape was in front of the Robert McDougall Art Gallery .
