The moths reach a wingspan of 11 to 14 millimeters, the fore wing length is given as 5 to 6 millimeters. The umbra-brown antennae are strongly thickened by scales and sawed at the tip. They are very long and reach one sixth of their length beyond the tip of the forewing. The labial palps are slightly lighter on the inside and slightly curved upwards. The forewings are equally wide and have a blunt apex . They are lighter or darker umber brown and have a dark, not always clearly visible spot in the middle of the anal fold. Behind it are similarly colored, washed-out counter spots, they are separated from the dark fringing field by a lighter spot on the front edge. The fringed scales are dark in one color. The hind wings are about half as wide as the forewings. They are very elongated, blackish or umber brown and have fringed scales of the same color. The underside of the forewings is blackish, the underside of the hind wings is somewhat lighter.
