Neoptolemus (son of Arrhabaios)
Neoptolemos ( Greek Νεοπτόλεμος ; † 334 BC before Halicarnassus ), son of Arrhabaios , was a Macedonian nobleman, probably from the princely family of the Lynkestis .
His father and uncle Heromenes were 336 BC. In the assassination of King Philip II of Macedon and were therefore executed by Alexander the Great . It is unclear whether Neoptolemus was also involved in the act, in any case he preferred to flee to Asia Minor and placed himself in the service of the Persian great king. His brother Amyntas as well as another uncle named Alexandros remained in favor of Alexander the great.
In 334 BC BC Neoptolemus fought on the Persian side in the defense of Halicarnassus and was killed trying to destroy the siege engines of the attackers.
