Neoraimondia herzogiana is a species of plant in the genus Neoraimondia from the cactus family(Cactaceae).
description
Neoraimondia herzogiana grows shrubby or tree-shaped and like candelabras, forms a clear trunk and reaches heights of up to 15 meters. The upright shoots have a diameter of 15 to 20 centimeters. There are 6 to 7 ribs . The conspicuous areoles are cone-like. The 3 to 5 central spines are 6 to 10 centimeters, the 7 to 10 radial spines 1 to 2 centimeters long.
The dirty pink-white flowers reach a diameter of 5 to 6 centimeters and lengths of 6 to 7.5 centimeters. Your pericarpel is covered with small tufts of short, bristle-like thorns. The egg-shaped, sweet and tasty fruits are yellowish brown and covered with thorns. They have a diameter of 5 centimeters and are 5 to 6 centimeters long. They have a persistent flower remnant.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Neoraimondia herzogiana is common in the Bolivian departments of Cochabamba , Chuquisaca , Santa Cruz and Tarija at altitudes of 600 to 1900 meters. The first description as Neocardenasia herzogiana was published in 1949 by Curt Backeberg . Franz Buxbaum placed them in the genus Neoraimondia in 1967 .
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
