The Nepal Police Club (until 2007 Mahendra Police Club) is a police sports club in Kathmandu ( Nepal ). The men's soccer team plays in the country's highest league, the A-Division League . The home stadium is the Mahendra Police Club Stadium, but in the 2006/07 season all league games were played in the Dasrath Stadium in Kathmandu.

Club history

The club was founded in 1966. In honor of King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev , the club was founded as the Mahendra Police Club. The club's greatest success was winning the championship in the 2006/07 season. This championship qualified for participation in the AFC President's Cup . There they reached the final straight away, which was lost 1: 2 against Dordoi-Dynamo . Since there has not been another championship in Nepal since 2007, the club was sent to the President's Cup again as the reigning champion. In 2008 the club reached the semi-finals again, but had to admit defeat against Dordoi-Dynamo again. Also in 2009 the association for Nepal starts in the President's Cup. From 2010 to 2012, the Nepal Police Club won the championship three times in a row.
