The Nepen-Diakha mountains formed on the boundary between Senegal and Guinea an about 11 kilometers west to the east-directed mountain range , that of the rainy and up with a steep escarpment to the north a north pillar 1537 m upstanding fouta Djallon -Berglands represent the flows Senegal , Gambia and Niger arise.

Since the mountain range itself is not named in official maps, a name can only be derived from the village closest to the summit, which is called Nepen Diakha and is located 2700 meters northwest at about 125 m altitude in the headwaters of a valley that goes north to the 35 Kilometers away by flowing Gambia drained.
A “Senegal high point 648” is recorded in various online maps , the coordinates of which, however, are recognizable about 20 meters beyond the border.
