Project development

In close cooperation and on behalf of the district administration, three institutional project developers and the "Guinness Housing Trust" have been creating a modern individual facility from the 72 hectare area and the old building stock of a private psychiatric clinic that has been disused for years since 1996 (beginning of the first planning) and terraced houses, with old, sensibly converted building stock and new buildings being optimally combined. In this way, the harmonious impression of a uniform historical ambience was artificially created, which was lost years ago due to large-scale demolition.

The new building was planned and implemented - including the redesign of existing company apartments - of a total of over 500 single and terraced houses as well as an old people's home, a kindergarten, a commercial building, a shop, a restaurant and public facilities such as B. a fitness studio , a tennis and a cricket field and a children's playground. The use of all facilities is reserved exclusively for residents who now even compete with their own cricket team.

A particular example of the excellent use of old buildings is the conversion of the historic church in a gym by the former altar area has been converted into a gym with fitness equipment and the nave in a swimming pool. Another example is the old water tower , now used by modern apartments - the topmost even over two floors - all of which can be reached via an outside elevator. A simpler example is the conversion of the old administration building into modern apartments.

The last works to refurbish public facilities were completed in 2007.
