The Nette is an 8.0 km long orographically right tributary of the Lenne in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . The course of the river lies entirely in the area of ​​the town of Altena, which belongs to the Märkisches Kreis .

The brook rises as Wennescheider Bach about 1 km southeast of Dahle at an altitude of 458  m above sea level. NN . The source lies below the saddle between Großer Attig (512 m) and Kohlberg on the northwest side of the ridge. From here the stream flows mainly in westerly directions through the villages of Dahle , Steinwinkel , Nette and flows out on the southern outskirts of Mühlendorf at 158  m above sea level. NN in the Lenne . The mouth is northwest of the Schlossberg with Altena Castle .

On its 8.0 km long path, the Nette overcomes a height difference of 300 m, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 37.5 ‰. It drains a 14.788 km² catchment area via the Lenne, Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea .
