New Apostolic Church on Triftstrasse in Berlin-Spandau

The New Apostolic Church Berlin-Spandau is a house of God built between 1933–1935. It is the largest of the three churches of the New Apostolic Church (NAK) in the Berlin district of Spandau .

In order to be able to realize the construction, the community members carried out a lot of work themselves. In addition, a building fund was set up into which churchgoers could pay; this amount was later repaid with interest.

The church building was inaugurated on December 15, 1935 by Apostle Landgrave.

description

The original entrance to the church was in the east. Due to a renovation in 1981, the entrance was moved to the south side. A stained glass mosaic can now be seen at the site of the former entrance; the actual portal can still be guessed from outside. Another renovation in 2005 made the entrance barrier-free with a ramp.

The nave of the hall church is a rectangular room with 250 seats, to which the semicircular chancel adjoins to the west. The chancel has nine round arches, the wooden altar also has round arches in its front. Separated from the nave by a pane of glass is a mother-child room. There are also two group rooms with 10 and 20 seats, a sacristy , cloakroom and a lounge / cafeteria on the ground floor .

The loft of the church was significantly reduced by a wall during renovations of 2005. A new room was created, which today serves as another church service room with 75 seats.

In addition to the pipe organ made by Karl Schuke , Berlin, there is an electronic sacral organ made by Ahlborn and an electronic Yamaha piano in the church .
