history

Neucoschütz was built in the middle of the 19th century as a workers' settlement on the connection route from Coschütz to Potschappel. The place was first mentioned in a document around 1850, making it the youngest settlement in the Freital area. It originally belonged to the later Dresden district of Coschütz , but in 1896 it was re- municipalityed to Potschappel. At that time the administrative affiliation of the place was with the administrative authority Dresden- Altstadt. In 1921 Potschappel merged with Döhlen and Deuben to form the city of Freital. Neucoschütz did not become a separate district of the new city, but remained assigned to Potschappel.
