New Pellworm steamship company
The New Pellwormer Steamship GmbH (NPDG) is a shipping company on the North Frisian island of Pellworm . Among other things, it serves the Pellworm – Nordstrand ferry line .
history
In 1872 the forerunner, the Pellworm steamship shipping company, was founded. The NPDG was founded on May 16, 1902 by the citizens of Pellworm . In 2014 it had a little over 100 shareholders, mostly Pellworm residents.

The NPDG has two ships. The Pellworm I, a 47 meter long car ferry, serves the line to the port of Strucklahnungshörn on the Nordstrand peninsula . The North Friesland is used for excursions, for example to the Halligen Gröde , Nordstrandischmoor , Südfall and Oland . As a replacement ship for the Pellworm I , the Amrum island ferry, acquired in January 2012 from the Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei Föhr-Amrum , was available until the end of June 2018 .
The NPDG also operates the entire bus service on Pellworm.
