The Neuenhainer See is a 5-hectare bathing lake in the Neuental municipality in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse . It was created from 1969 by flooding a remaining open pit from the Borken lignite mining area .
location
The Neuenhainer See is located in the east of Neuental about 500 m north of the Neuenhain district . Dillich , a district of Borken , is a good one kilometer northeast of the lake . The core town of Borken is a good five kilometers north.
The lake is surrounded by agricultural land, in the north there is a small forest. About 600 m to the north is Lake Dillich, which was also created from the Borken open- cast lignite mine .
Freetime activities
There is a campsite on the north shore of the lake . There is also a beach volleyball court, tennis courts and an adventure playground. In addition to a beach, the lake offers fishing and diving opportunities.
In the summer of 2008, four members of the right-wing extremist Free Forces Schwalm-Eder attacked a camp of the left -wing youth Solid .
