The New Jewish Cemetery in Esslingen am Neckar , a town in the Esslingen district in Baden-Württemberg , was laid out in 1874. The cemetery on Landenberger Straße is a protected cultural monument .

history

After the old Jewish cemetery was fully occupied, a new Jewish cemetery was created within the Ebershalden cemetery in 1874 . It has an area of ​​5.72 ares and today there are 75 tombstones ( mazewot ). The oldest tombstone is from 1874 and the last burial took place in 1979.

The Jewish cemetery was also occupied several times after 1945. On the area that was unoccupied until 1945 there are graves of the dead from the Echterdingen concentration camp who were transferred here in 1947, with a memorial site.
