Location of Bad Neuhaus in Bavaria

Bad Neuhaus is a district of the city of Bad Neustadt an der Saale , the district town of the Rhön-Grabfeld district . Neuhaus lies at the foot of the Salzburg river .

history

Simon von Thüngen (noble family) , one of the residents on the Salzburg , had a "newe Haws" built in 1451 on the site of today's Neuhaus. In 1767, the new owner Egid Valentin Felix von Borié had the Thüngensche house torn down and replaced with a three-winged castle (today's spa and castle hotel). He also had the richly decorated Heiligkreuz palace chapel built by the rococo architect Heinrich Todesko from 1773 to 1776. In 1853 the next owner, Countess Elisabeth von Haxthausen, widow of Werner von Haxthausen , had the healing springs built and the first bath house built. The community had had the suffix " Bad " since 1907. On July 1, 1934, Bad Neuhaus was incorporated into Neustadt. Neustadt adopted the title “Bad”.

Medicinal springs

The spa is based on four healing springs. These are common salt acid with a considerable content of bitter and Glauber's salt.

economy

Bad Neuhaus is now the spa district of Bad Neustadt with an extensive spa park. The Rhön-Klinikum AG is based in Neuhaus.
