Lebenhan is a district of the city of Bad Neustadt an der Saale , the district town of Rhön-Grabfeld . On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into Brendlorenzen . On May 1, 1978 the place was incorporated together with Brendlorenzen in the city of Bad Neustadt an der Saale.

The name comes from Löwenhag or Löwenhain .

In Lebenhan there is a brickworks and a sawmill. Since the end of 2006, preparations have been made for further clay mining, but this is not processed on site, but transported to Brendlorenzen .

The connection to the public transport takes place over the line 8183 of the OVF from Bad Neustadt to Oberelsbach . Lebenhan is connected to the B 279 and the 2292. Löwenhain Castle

In 1919 the missionaries bought the old mansion Schloss Löwenhain from the Holy Family , which characterizes the place and was built in 1246 for the administrators of the episcopal salt forest from the Forstmeister family and belonged to the von Gebsattel family from 1629 to 1865 . The stately building became a mission school with boarding school, which produced many priests and missionaries until it closed in 1978 . In 2008 the monastery had to be closed and the monastery church of St. Kilian was profaned .

In Lebenhan there is a volunteer fire brigade and numerous other associations, including the DJK and the shooting club.

The Rhön Riding Club has had its stables and a riding hall in Lebenhan since 2001.
