Products

In addition to the "Classic", "Medium" and "Still" mineral waters, Neuselters also offers mixed drinks such as apple spritzer and wellness drinks. With the acquisition of the license for bottling and distribution from Nestlé at the end of 2014, “Neuselters Mineralquellen GmbH” continues to be the only German bottling location for the international brand Aquarel (the so-called “Birken-Quelle”).

history

The mineral fountain has existed since 1896. Together with the associated brand, it was taken over in 1974 by the mineral water company Nestlé Waters Deutschland AG , formerly Blaue Quellen Mineral- und Heilbrunnen AG.

In 2005 the site had around 90 jobs and in 2004 produced 160 million liters of mineral water (163 million bottles). This generated a turnover of around 30 million euros.

Due to restructuring measures, 40 employees were laid off in July 2013 and operations continued with a focus on Nestlé Aquarel with 34 employees. The Neuselters brand then disappeared completely from the market by the beginning of 2015.

At the end of 2014, the mineral well was sold to two shareholders of the Rhenser Mineralbrunnen from Rhens in Rhineland-Palatinate (formerly managers of the Nestlé Group). After investments have already been made in the three existing filling systems for one-way and returnable PET bottles, the filling system for returnable glass bottles sold in 2013 is to be replaced in the medium term.

The Neuselters brand was reintroduced on January 1, 2015 . Of the 34 employees, 32 were transferred to the new “Neuselters Mineralquellen GmbH”. In the long term, it was planned to increase the number of employees with increasing sales.

The takeover failed, however, so the management announced the closure at the end of February 2016.
