Neven Sesardic

Neven Sesardić (born July 30, 1949 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia (now Serbia )) is a Croatian philosopher who is known for his writings on heredity and race and who worked as a professor at Lingnan University in Hong Kong for most of his career .

Life

Sesardić studied Philosophy and Ancient Greek Philology at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Zagreb in 1974 and received his doctorate in 1982 . From 1989–91 he was a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Gießen and assistant at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research at Bielefeld University . He was visiting professor at the University of Notre Dame (1994/95) and at the Miyazaki International College (1997-99), scholarship holder of the National Science Foundation at the University of Minnesota (1995/96) and researcher atKing's College London . He taught at Lingnan University in Hong Kong from 2000 until his retirement in 2015 as a full professor .

Sesardić is a member of the American Philosophical Association , Philosophy of Science Association and the Croatian Philosophical Society. He was a columnist for Jutarnji list and Večernji list . He stood up for the ideas of Karl Popper and criticized the practical philosophy .
