The New Mexico State Route 2 ( NM 2 for short ) is a state route in the US state of New Mexico that runs in a north-south direction.
The State Route begins on US Highway 285 north of Artesia and ends south of Roswell at Midway again on US 285. The two-lane NM 2 runs through the cities of Dexter , Greenfield , Hagerman and Lake Arthur . The road between Dexter and Midway is called the Old Dexter Highway .
