Newdegate is a village in the Australian state of Western Australia with 167 inhabitants (2016), which is a good 400 kilometers southeast of Perth .

Newdegate is located in a barely populated, fertile area, which is characterized by grain cultivation and sheep farming ( Wheatbelt region ). The Australian Department of Agriculture operates a research station near the village. Every year, an agricultural fair ( Newdegate Machinery Field Days ) takes place in Newdegate , at which, among other things, agricultural machines and farm equipment are exhibited and various competitions take place.

The village is named after Francis Newdegate , a governor of Western Australia .
