Ngọc Sơn

Ngọc Sơn (born November 26, 1968 in Đồ Sơn , Hải Phòng ) is a Vietnamese singer and songwriter .

life and career

Ngọc Sơn was born in the Đồ Sơn district of the port city of Hải Phong. His father Phạm Ngọc Thanh was rector and at the same time head of the military region Khu 5 . Ngọc Sơn has two siblings: sister Ngọc Hà and brother Ngọc Hải.

In 1975 Ngọc Sơn went to Da Nẵng with his mother . In 1977 he lived in Bạc Liêu . He lived there until 1987 and then traveled to Saigon (today: Ho Chi Minh City) to attend a theater arts school. About two years later he devoted himself to folk music , the Nhã nhạc . In 1989, Sơn took part in a dance music festival in Nha Trang . He achieved great fame with his song Thuyền và bi Berühn .

In 1990 Sơn achieved another great success with his song Lòng mẹ . Over the years, Sơn has also won several prestigious awards and has become an integral part of the Vietnamese music industry. To date, Ngọc Sơn is the interpreter with the most records sold in Vietnam.
