Ni Tien
Ni Tien also Tanny Tien Ni ( Chinese 恬 妮 , Pinyin Tián Nī , born January 1, 1948 , Shanghai , Republic of China ) is a Chinese- Canadian actress living in Toronto , Canada . She became known as the star of Hong Kong films .
Career
Ni Tien grew up in Taiwan. She was discovered as an actress after a beauty pageant and appeared on Taiwanese television. Her first film role was in Sword of Endurance in 1969 . In 1972 she signed a contract with the Shaw Brothers film production company . Numerous, often action-oriented films followed, in which she primarily embodied erotic female roles. Ni Tien directed the erotic costume film Illicit Desire in 1973 under the direction of Li Han-hsiang, emphasizing her sensual charisma. Other well-known films include Masters of All Classes 3 (1974) with Jackie Chan , the blaxploitation action film Cleopatra Jones against the dragon lady(1975), The Death Strike of Steel Fingers (1976) or the horror films Xie (1980) and Si yiu (1981).
At the end of the 1980s, she largely withdrew into private life. She has been married to actor Yueh Hua since 1974; the couple live in Toronto, Canada. Ni Tien's younger sister, Tien Niu, is also a well-known movie star.
