Fred Huerst

Alfred "Fred" Hürst (born June 22, 1949 ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and hotelier .

Life

Fred Hürst, who grew up in Buchs ( Switzerland ), successfully graduated from the hotel management school in Lausanne (Switzerland) in 1972 after completing his apprenticeship as a waiter and cook . His training also includes the Swiss Hotelier-Restaurateur SHV diploma.

From 1970 to 1976 Fred Hürst worked for the InterContinental Hotels Group in Geneva and Abidjan . Fred Hürst worked at Mövenpick from 1976 to 1986 . From 1976 to 1980 he was responsible for the Mövenpick Hotel Zurich Airport , where he acted as Deputy General Manager . From 1984 to 1986 he was regional director responsible for motorway catering.

A detour to gastronomy followed . He planned, designed and opened the first Swiss Marché Mövenpick operations in Lucerne , Bellinzona and Glarus .

From 1986 to 2013, Fred Hürst worked for Hyatt , from 2001 as Area Vice President . In this role he was responsible for the construction and design of Hyatt hotels in Central Europe. In Germany there are three Hyatt Regency, one Park Hyatt and one Grand Hyatt.

Fred Hürst has been a partner in the consulting firm MRP-Consult Schweiz AG since January 2014 .

Fred Hürst has lived and worked in Switzerland , Egypt , Ivory Coast , Belgium and Germany .
