Nialga (also: Gnalga , Nyalga ) is a district of Niamey in Niger .

Nialga is located in the northeast of the Kirkissoye district in the Niamey V arrondissement . The settlement lies in a swampy oxbow lake of the Niger River and is at risk of flooding in the rainy season. At Nialga begins the driveway to the Pont de l'amitié Chine-Niger , a road bridge over the river. The houses are usually adobe buildings without any comfort. Cooking takes place outdoors. There is no running water and accordingly no showers and water closets. Nialga is considered one of the most dangerous areas of Niamey in terms of robbery and theft. Prostitutes and their clients frequent illegal taverns here.

Nialga emerged after 1990 as an informal settlement without the consent of the city administration. The practice of informal parcelling existed in some areas of Niamey from the 1960s to the early 1990s. Other examples of districts that have emerged in this way are Talladjé , Pays Bas , Zarmagandey and Koubia .
