Niaz Murshed
Niaz Murshed ( Bengali নিয়াজ মোরশেদ ; born May 13, 1966 in Dhaka ) is a chess master from Bangladesh.
He could the Bangladesh Championship five times win: 1979-1982 and 2012. He played for Bangladesh in eight Chess Olympiads : 1984 , 1990 , 1994 - 1996 , 2002 and 2012 bis 2016 . He also took part in the Asian team championships five times (1979, 1983, 1991, 2009, 2016).
At the Asian zone tournament in Sharjah (1981) he came second.
In 1982 he became International Master , since 1987 he has held the title of Grand Master , making him the first Grand Master in Bangladesh. His highest rating to date was 2525 in July 1993.
