Mollah Abdullah Al-Rakib

Mollah Abdullah Al-Rakib ( Bengali আবদুল্লাহ আল রাকিব ; * December 2, 1980 in Narayanganj ) is a chess master from Bangladesh .

Life

With an Elo rating of 2463 (as of March 2020), Mollah Abdullah Al-Rakib leads the Elo ranking of Bangladesh. Since 1998 he has been an international master and since 2007, the fourth player after Niaz Murshed , Ziaur Rahman and Reefat Bin-Sattar, a grandmaster from Bangladesh. He achieved his grandmaster norms at the Asian Championship in Calcutta in 2001, at a grandmaster tournament in Dhaka in 2004 and also in Dhaka at the 2007 Bangladesh Championship, which he won. In January 2009 it reached its highest rating with 2535.

Mollah Abdullah Al-Rakib participated with Bangladesh in the 1994 , 1998 , 2000 , 2002 , 2004 , 2006 , 2008 , 2012 and 2014 Chess Olympiads .
