Nicolas Paul "Nic" Jones (born January 9, 1947 in Orpington ) is an English folk singer, guitarist and fiddler . A serious car accident ended his career in 1982.

biography

Nic Jones grew up in Essex . In the late 1960s he was a member of the folk band The Halliard . From 1969 onwards, Jones appeared solo and released five albums . His last, Penguin Eggs from 1980, is considered a milestone in British folk. In February 1982 Jones had a serious car accident on the way back from a performance, which resulted in an eight-month hospital stay and permanent impairment of his motor skills, which ended his music career. After a 28-year hiatus, he was back on stage for the first time in 2010 and has since performed regularly as a guitarist.
