Nicholas Ganz

Nicholas Ganz (* 1976 in Essen ) is a German photographer and author .

Life

He has been spraying graffiti since the beginning of the 1990s and at the same time documenting his own work and that of other sprayers with the camera. In 1997 he created his pseudonym Keinom, under which he is still active today. He learned photography by himself and by studying other photographers and photo books.

In 2004 he published his first illustrated book Graffiti World, which received worldwide recognition and has appeared in eleven countries. This was followed in 2006 by the illustrated book Graffiti Woman, which was translated into five languages.

Since 2005 he has toured Burma / Myanmar as a documentary photographer and published his research and work in the book "Burma - the alternative guide".

Another book about Burma was published in 2012, where he introduces the Shan people with their long history and analyzes the causes of the civil war.

In addition to his professional work in the crisis areas, he has always supported the local people and in 2008 he founded the aid organization Keinom Foundation. He is also a founding member of the Burma Action.
