Thomas Richard Whitney (born May 2, 1807 in New York City , † April 12, 1858 ) was an American politician . Between 1855 and 1857 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Thomas Richard Whitney was born and raised in New York City about five years before the outbreak of the British-American War .
