Randall S. Street

Randall S. Street (* 1780 in Catskill , New York , † November 21, 1841 in Monticello , New York) was an American lawyer and politician . Between 1819 and 1821 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Randall S. Street was born in Catskill during the Revolutionary War . He studied classical antiquity and law . After receiving his license to practice law, he began practicing in Poughkeepsie . He worked from February 1810 to February 1811 and from March 1813 to February 1815 as a district attorney in the second judicial district. During the British-American War he served in the New York militia and during this time held the rank of lieutenant colonel . Politically he belonged to the Federalist Party . In the congressional elections of 1818 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the fourth constituency of New York , where he succeeded James Tallmadge junior on March 4, 1819 . He retired from the after March 3, 1821 Congress of. Around 1825 he moved to Monticello. There he worked as a lawyer until his death on November 21, 1841. His body was buried in Poughkeepsie.
