David A. Levy

David A. Levy (born December 18, 1953 in Johnson County , Indiana ) is an American lawyer and politician . Between 1993 and 1995 he represented New York State in the US House of Representatives .

Career

David A. Levy was born in Johnson County about five months after the end of the Korean War . He went to Hofstra University , where he did a Bachelor of Arts in 1973 and a Juris Doctor in 1979 . He was admitted to the bar in 1980 and then began to practice. He was in charge of a utility company. Between 1989 and 1993 he was a member of the town council of Hempstead (New York).

Politically, he belongs to the Republican Party . In the 1992 congressional elections , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the fourth constituency of New York , where he succeeded Norman F. Lent on January 4, 1993 . He suffered in 1994 during his re-election bid a defeat and withdrew from the after January 3, 1995 Congress of.

He then took a job as News Director at WKJY-FM in Hempstead. His wife, Tracey Burgess, was his assistant. Levy was also back on the city council. He then worked as a special assistant to supervisor Gregory Peterson. He has worked for radio stations such as WGBB (Freeport, New York), WHN (New York), WINS (New York) and WKJY (Hempstead, New York).
