The Nichols Snowfield is a 35 km long and 13 km wide snow field in the north of the West Antarctic Alexander Island . It is bounded to the east by the Rouen Mountains and the Elgar Uplands and the Lassus Mountains to the west.

It was discovered during an overflight in 1937 as part of the British Grahamland Expedition (1934-1937) led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill . Aerial photographs that were taken during the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) under the direction of the American polar explorer Finn Ronne were used by the British geographer Derek Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1960 for mapping. The US polar explorer Finn Ronne named the snowfield after the geologist and participant of his expedition Robert Leslie Nichols (1904-1995).
