Nicholas "Nick" Eduardo Alberto Cordero (born September 17, 1978 in Hamilton , Ontario ; died July 5, 2020 in Los Angeles , California ) was a Canadian actor and musician .

Life

Nick Cordero has primarily appeared in plays on Broadway and in television and film roles. In 2014 he became known for his role as Cheech in the musical Bullets Over Broadway ; he was nominated for the Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award for Best Actor in a Musical . After a role as Graf in the musical Waitress 2016, the role of Sonny in the musical A Bronx Tale was another nomination for the Drama Desk Award. In film and television, Cordero was seen in ten productions from 2005 to 2019.

He was in a relationship with a fitness trainer from 2014 and married her from 2017; there was a son from the marriage.

On March 30, 2020, he came to the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with suspected pneumonia , where he died after a 98-day hospital stay as a result of a COVID-19 infection and several secondary diseases .
