Nick Drnaso

Nick Drnaso (born 1989 in Palos Hills , Illinois ) is an American comic book writer .

Drnaso is known for his graphic novels Beverly (2016) and Sabrina (2018; German translation by Daniel Beskos and Karen Köhler). The latter was the first comic book ever to be nominated for the most important British literary prize , the Man Booker Prize . Drnaso's drawing style is reminiscent of that of his contemporaries Daniel Clowes , Adrian Tomine or Chris Ware . British writer Zadie Smith praised Sabrina as "the best book in - any medium - I have read about our contemporary moment".
