Nick Gilder

Nick Gilder (born November 7, 1951 in London , England ) is an English-Canadian rock singer.

Career

In 1961 he emigrated to Canada with his family. In 1971 he founded the glam rock band Sweeney Todd with Jimmy McCulloch , who had the hit Roxy Roller with him as lead singer in 1976 , which reached number 1 on the RPM Canadian singles chart on June 26 of that year and remained in the top position for three weeks. The single reached number 90 on the US charts. After leaving the band, Bryan Adams became the new singer and the same song was released again.

From 1977 Gilder released solo records. His title, Hot Child In The City , went number 1 in the US and went platinum. There were no more hits, although Gilder is still active today.
