Whapmagoostui ("place of the white whales" in the language of the Cree ) is the northernmost Cree Indian settlement in the province of Québec .
It is inhabited by around 750 Cree Indians who share the site with the Inuit settlement Kuujjuarapik ("Small Major River" on Inuktitut ), which has around 650 inhabitants .
Whapmagoostui is located on the east coast of Hudson Bay in the confluence of the Grande rivière de la Baleine ("Great Whale River" in English). Further information can be found under Kuujjuarapik .
