Nick Love

Nick Love (born December 24, 1969 in London ) is a British director and screenwriter .

Career

In 2001 Love Goodbye shot Charlie Bright for which he was nominated for a Gold Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival . Love wrote the script and directed The Football Factory , a hooligan film from the London football club Chelsea FC . The script was based on the novel by John King. The film was characterized by a cynical view of jaded thugs on their lives as hooligans, which is supposed to suppress everyday boredom. A year later, Love shot the film The Business with the Football Factory actors Danny Dyer , Tamer Hassan and Roland Manookian , among others . This is about crime and the fatalistic review of a gangster who wanted to escape from everyday life. His other films Outlaw , The Firm - 3rd Half and The Crime also have crime and hooliganism as themes. At Outlaw , Love worked with actors who belong to the first guard of British actors: Sean Bean , Sean Harris and Bob Hoskins . In addition, Loves regular actor Danny Dyer, who starred in four of six Loves films, was part of the ensemble.

On August 1, 2012, The Sweeney was the opening film of the Locarno International Film Festival . Love said that he had long wanted to film Sweeney but the producers insisted on an Americanized style.

Love was briefly married to Patsy Palmer .
