Nick MacKenzie
Nick MacKenzie (actually Nick van den Broeke , born March 2, 1950 in Bandung , Indonesia ) is a Dutch singer .
Life
At the age of 15 MacKenzie was the singer of the group Secrets. He then switched to a band called Road, which had a chart hit in 1971 with the song Never Leave Me Lonely , which reached number 15 on the Dutch charts . He then devoted himself to his solo career.
Nick MacKenzie had his first top 10 hit with the song One Is One , which was number 2 in the Dutch charts in the summer of 1973. At the end of the year, Juanita followed at number 5. In February of the following year, the song also climbed into the German charts and reached number 4. Another top 10 hit at home a few weeks later was Peaches on a Tree (number 5). In Germany, the single was placed in the top 30 (28th place) in May 1974.
Although the titles In Old Mexico and Hug Me were able to place themselves in the charts of both countries in the same year, they only reached middle positions. The German-language Der Apfel does not fall far from the tree and the single Tell the World was only small successes in Germany at the end of 1974. MacKenzie had his last chart success in 1980 when Hello, Good Morning was 34th in Holland.
