Nickless (born October 5, 1995 in Zurich ; actually Nicola Kneringer ) is a Swiss musician .
biography
Nicola Kneringer grew up in Uetikon am See . He started playing drums at the age of seven and made his first appearance at the Züri Fäscht when he was eight . He gained his first stage experience as a drummer in various bands.
At 14, Nicola was in a music studio for the first time. With the recorded song “Geschter” he won the Swiss Star Contest of the Coop newspaper with the teen band “Klirrffekt” , after which the band broke up. In addition, he learned to play the guitar and piano. From time to time he also sang, but more in the background and behind the drums, as his voice was still very high before his voice broke. He began to write his own songs and arrangements at an early age. After finishing secondary school, Nicola attended the Art & Sports School in Zurich. In 2009 he became Swiss master of drums in category III.
After school he did an internship as a studio assistant with producer Thomas Fessler. At the age of 16 he started playing / singing his own songs and switched to lead singer and guitarist. He came into contact with many bands, including 77 Bombay Street : At a birthday party for singer Matt Buchli, he played in a gymnasium in Graubünden, and in 2012 he went on tour with them, back then as Nici . Bastian Baker also sat in that gym and invited him to join him on his tour in 2014. After this tour Nicola founded his band "Nickless". Friends from his youth play with Nicola: Franky (guitar), Florian (drums) and Andrea (bass).
Nicola worked in the studio for a second year as an intern and studied audio engineering on the side. In 2013 he finished his studies, finished the internship and lived in London for some time to learn better English. Since everyone in London called him Nicolas , he called himself "Nickless" from then on. At the end of 2014 he received a recording contract from Phonag Records GmbH. Fessler produced his first single "Waiting", which was released on February 13, 2015. In the spring of 2015 it reached number 14 on the Swiss charts . In the summer of 2015, the second single "Looking For Your Love" was released. On February 12, 2016, “Waiting” was named Best Hit National at the Swiss Music Awards 2016. His first album "Four Years" was released on March 4, 2016
In 2015 Nickless appeared in the opening act for Marlon Roudette and Andreas Bourani at their concerts in Zurich and played at various festivals such as Zermatt Unplugged and Energy Air .
Nickless works 60 percent in Fessler's studio with bands and also writes songs for other musicians. He also invests his time in his own project.
