Nicolae Costin
Nicolae Costin (born April 7, 1936 in Peciste , Rezina Rajon , † February 16, 1995 in Chișinău ) was a Moldovan politician and mayor of the city of Chișinău, capital of the Republic of Moldova.
During the Soviet era he campaigned for the emancipation of the Romanian population. Nicolae Costin's tenure as Mayor of Chisinau went from 1990 to 1994. His successor Serafim Urecheanu took over the office on August 9, 1994. Nicolae Costin was married to Iuliana Gorea Costin.
