Palazzo (Bingen)
The Palazzo has long been one of the most famous techno clubs in the Rhine-Main area . Located in the old town hall on the banks of the Rhine in Bingen , the club offered space for over 2000 people on three floors . Together with Dorian Gray , the Palazzo, founded in 1990 , was one of the first clubs in Germany to play electronic dance music such as trance , progressive techno , minimal techno , electro , house and hardcore techno .
After several interim closings, alterations and reopenings, the palazzo was closed in this form in 2003. The “farewell anthem” The End by Tube-Tech (Alex Denton, Udo Niebergall, Joachim Muno) , a cover version of the Doors ' song of the same name , was one of the best-selling techno records of 2003 and reached the in Germany Single charts .
The building has been leased several times since then, and ultimately sold to the customs office operator in 2015.
